I’m a Sundance award-winning actress and screenwriting coach on a mission to help as many actors as possible take their success into their own hands by writing and producing short films.

On-screen representation can be life-changing. But the entertainment industry is notoriously slow to change (and still primarily a mediocre white man’s club).

The good news is - you don’t need to wait for someone to pick you. You don’t have to wait for someone else to (finally) tell the stories you want to see and act in. You can tell them yourself.

In fact, you are the best person to write and produce your project.

Think about the films or TV shows that impacted you - that felt like pure magic. Your story is that for someone else.

But how do you get started? This is the question.

I had an idea for a script I wanted to write forever. I thought writing would be easy! After all, I had extensive acting training. I’d read hundreds of scripts and broken down a bazillion auditions.

So I knew how to break down a scene and craft a performance. Not to mention my time behind the camera when I worked with an independent film producer in the $5M -$50M range.

I learned that writing could feel impossible when you create in a vacuum and try to figure it out yourself.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

I was finally able to write my script when I stopped trying to figure it all out alone.
And I got to the finish line so much faster (and it was way more fun!).
